Isabella D'Auria is tenure track Assistant Professor (RTD-b) in Ancient Christian Literature at the Department of Humanities, University of Naples Federico II (Italy). She teaches Ancient Christian Literature in the degree course of Classical Letters and in the master’s degree courses of Philology, Literatures and Civilizations of the Ancient World and of Historical Sciences.
After having obtained her PhD in “Classical, Christian and Medieval-Humanistic, Greek and Latin Philology” she held a research grant and a scholarship at the Department of Humanistic Studies (University of Naples Federico II) and carried out research stays at European universities. She has been a speaker at conferences and seminars in Italy and abroad and took part in some research projects (PRIN, FIRB, DFG). In 2018 she obtained the National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor, Academic Recruitment Field 10/D4 - Classical and Late Antique Philology.
Her main areas of research are: the Latin Christian poetry, in particular paraphrastic poetry (Claudius Marius Victorius); the poetry of martyrdom content (Prudentius, Paulinus Nolanus) with related testamentary and exegetical involvement; the Latin hagiography of V-VI century (especially the Vita Fulgentii).
